Apple continues to be analyzing tvOS 9.2.2 with developers since late May, and today the latest software update for the Apple TV has been released to all customers. tvOS 9.2.2 is a minor release for the fourth generation Apple TV as new features and large enhancements are arriving after this year with tvOS 10.
When tvOS 10 is ready this fall, Apple TV 4 will gain a dark mode, new Siri attributes like YouTube video search and looking up pictures and TV shows by themes, an updated Photographs app with Memories, support for HomeKit and controlling smart home accessories, single sign-on for authenticating cable channels, and more. tvOS 10 is now in development with betas available for registered developers.
Apple TV will upgrade its software automatically by default, or you can give it a heads up if you don’t need to wait.
